Happy New Year! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!

The Club had a great month of December. The number of private holiday parties we booked went up again over last year and member participation in club parties, caterings and dining in the Boat Bar were up as well. It’s great to have such involvement from the membership during the busy holiday season.

Our annual meeting was held on December 5th. For those of you who were unable to attend, the club had a pretty good year. From a financial perspective, in comparison to budget, we had a net gain of approximately $100,000 through November, leaving our balance of cash around $350,000. There were slight gains in overall food and beverage revenues, golf rounds played and membership. We hope these trends continue through 2014. Thank you for all of your participation in the club!

We have some exciting news! Your board of directors have approved a few projects in and around your club. Renovation plans for the Quarterdeck dining and bathroom areas are underway. We will be installing new countertops, flooring, lighting, tables, chairs—a great new clean look we know you will enjoy. We will also be putting in a Bocce court (60 feet long by 10 feet wide) with an attached fire pit. On the golf course, we will be focusing on a tee project! This will involve leveling certain tees, adding new tees to existing holes and enhancing the overall playability of your golf course. These projects will be paid for out of cash, so no assessment.

Now is a great time to be planning for your upcoming graduation parties. The club can fully cater a party to your house or you can throw your party here. The Pavilion and the Quarterdeck are great venues to host any party and we can customize your menu based on the budget you would like to work within. If interested, give me a call!

Looking ahead, we have a lot going on for you to enjoy in the months of January and February. You can find these on the social events calendar. I would like to highlight the ice rink and the instructional services we will be providing. We have also mapped out a great cross country ski trail again this year. You will see signs posted by the Grille Room for the start of the intermediate and advance loops we have created. As we write this letter, we are looking at a green golf course. Let’s hope for some good old fashion cold weather in order to have a great winter season here at the club.

As most of you know, my son Mitchell has been fighting cancer over the past few years. We are so appreciative of all of the positive thoughts, prayers and support you have shown Mitch and our family. Thank you and happy new year!
