Dear Members & Friends,
Hello from the grounds department! Aerification time has come and gone and Mother Nature smiled on us again with the entire process only taking two weeks! Aerification holes on the greens were already filling in after only 7 days and completely healed in 2 weeks. As always we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of year. This is a necessary part of the maintenance program, and you can expect putting green conditions to be outstanding in the spring and throughout the season of 2015.
The grounds staff is in full leaf cleanup mode. The irrigation system will be winterized soon and our snow mold applications will be made in the next few weeks. We are also in the process of shifting gears to winter activities here at the club along with some winter projects out on the course. Your golf course is in wonderful shape and we hope you can make it out to enjoy some golf yet this fall.
Do you ever wonder what happens on the golf course when you're not around? Maybe you would just like to educate yourself more on the science behind what it takes to keep turf conditions at a championship level daily. Check out our Blog and Twitter feed for a behind the scenes look at the maintenance that takes place at your club, with pictures, short videos and detailed information to help you better understand turfgrass science at your club. www.GLCCTurf.Blogspot.com
A big Thank You to our staff for a great job so far this season. From the turf and bunkers, to the flowers, everything looks great! If you see one of them on the course thank them, I know they would appreciate the compliment.
