General Manager

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! The Club had a great month of December. The number of private holiday parties we booked went up again over last year and member participation in club parties, caterings and dining in the Boat Bar were up as well. It's great to have such involvement from the membership during the busy holiday season. Our Annual Meeting was held on December 2nd. For those of you who were unable to attend, the club had a pretty good year. From a financial perspective, in comparison to budget, we had a net gain of approximately $150,000 through November, leaving our balance of cash around $300,000. We did make a $400,000 principal payment this year, settling our debt load at approximately $2.5 million. There were slight gains in overall food and beverage revenues, golf rounds played and membership levels. We hope these trends continue through 2016. Thank you for all of your participation in and around the Club! Now is a great time to be planning for your upcoming graduation parties. The Club can fully cater a party to your house or you can throw your own party here. The Pavilion and the Quarter Deck are great venues to host any party and we can customize your menu based on the budget you would like to work within. If interested, give me a call!

Looking ahead, we have a lot going on for you to enjoy in the months of January and February. You can find these on the social events calendar within your newsletter. As we write this letter, we are looking at a green golf course. Let's hope for some good old fashioned cold, Michigan weather in order to have a great winter season here at the Club.

At this time, I would like to thank Dave Crandell for his two years of service as your Board President. It has been a pleasure working with him in order to ensure your Club is running well. I want to thank John Kittredge for his 6 years of service as well as welcome Russ McFee to the Board. Congratulations to Bjorn Green, our new Board President for the next two years with Bill English taking over the role as Vice President. I look forward to working with them and all the Boat and Committee members in 2016!
