Racquet Sports Director
It was a perfect summer on the tennis courts. Thank you to everyone for joining the staff and I on court and making it such a fun summer! It's not too late to pick up your tennis racquet during the fall season and keep working on your tennis game. I am available while the weather stays nice to continue tennis lesson out here at GLCC. Please contact me to find out what classes are still running during September or to set up a private lesson.
The junior classes brought a lot of energy to the courts this summer. I saw improvements in every player in the program and I can't wait to see what next year brings! Over the summer, the juniors competed in three tennis matches against BCCC and KCC. The excitement on court didn't stop there, the juniors worked hard in class all summer long and with over 100 kids in the program we had a very competitive Junior Club Championship. Thanks to everyone that played tennis this summer. listed below are the junior champions!
This summer, we had a huge increase in interest in the game of pickleball. We event added two more pickleball courts, because of all the activity on the courts. Everyone that tried pickleball this summer fell in love with the sport. We will also be hosting our first pickleball tournament on Saturday, September 17th at 9 am. Please contact me if you would like to play in the tournament. If you haven't learned how to play and would like to give it a try, please contact me and I would love to set up a time with you on how to play the game.
Can you believe that it is time to start thinking about platform tennis? I can't believe it's almost here. The kick-off mixer will be on Friday, October 21st from 6:30 - 8:30 pm! The platform lesson and league schedule will be emailed out soon. Make sure to let me know if you are looking for a new paddle. Sleeves of balls will always be available for sale in the GLCC front office.
