Well, hello summer!
As I write this article, “school’s out for the summer…” recently and hopefully you have started enjoying your summertime fun and excitement. It is a wonderful time to be living in and around Gull Lake and enjoying the weather, the water and the welcoming atmosphere around the Club. We are in full motion at GLCC and there are so many great activities (golf, tennis, sailing, pickleball, kids camp, swimming, blobbing, etc), events and programs catering to each and every one of you—please take full advantage of the fantastic offerings and opportunities to “activate” your membership experience! If you have any general or specific questions about what’s happening around the Club, please feel free to ask myself, Mike, any staff member, Board member or other members.
We continue to make enhancements around the grounds of the Club that I hope you enjoy and take notice of as we reinvest in our facilities. Some of the improvements include new cabana structures at the lakefront to provide some shade on those warm days as well as new blue umbrellas around the outdoor patios and outdoor string lights to create a warm ambiance at the Boat Bar patio. Hopefully, you have been able to experience the patio already by dining outside with the family, loved ones and friends to kick-off summer. It’s the best time of the year to be overlooking the lake while enjoying a great meal!
It’s also the time of year to celebrate the birthday of our great country, so, I wanted to provide you a reminder that we will again be hosting the firework show this summer to celebrate the 4th of July holiday—the GLOW non-profit organization will be orchestrating the fireworks show for Tuesday night, July 4th—it should be another fantastic event. As you may or may not know, this is a volunteer organization that raises funds to support the fireworks show. So, I thought I would put in a “shameless” plug to please consider supporting this event by visiting the website www.gulllakefireworks.com to donate and sending to your local friends and encouraging additional support. You can even donate after the 4th in the event you do not read this article until then.
Other noteworthy items this summer include a new offering—Breakfast by Aaron on Saturday mornings in the Grille Room. It’s good cookin’ so stop by and enjoy your morning meal overlooking the golf course. Try the cheesy grits...yum! Also, the pavilion on Wednesday nights is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the waterfront with some good food, great drinks and fantastic company—it’s a good excuse to come out and play in the middle of the week.
Lastly, please do take a moment to say thank you (some even like to “hug it out”) to any one of our great team members on the GLCC staff for all of their hard work and dedication to make your experience awesome, every time!
Looking forward to seeing each and every one of you around the Club having fun, making memories, building friendships
and enjoying all that our wonderful “slice of the world” has to offer.
