Dear GLCC Members,
Come out and join all the fun on the tennis and pickleball courts this summer. We have so many exciting events coming up. Check the calendar and see if you can make it out. Back for a second year we have Trash Tennis. This unique adult event doesn’t require many skills on the tennis court, yet you are guaranteed to have a blast. The event is perfect for couples that range in all ability levels. You could have the least amount of skills on the tennis court, yet win big that evening.
Do you play pickleball down south or around the Kalamazoo area? If so, you need to join us on the GLCC pickleball courts! Our drop in play runs on Wednesday at 8:30am, Thursday at 6:30pm and Sunday morning (advanced play). Please let me know if you would like to learn how to play or get involved in more pickleball.
Have you tried Cardio tennis yet? Cardio is offered 2 days a week during the summer and it is open for all adult tennis levels. Drop in and get a great cardio workout hitting baskets of tennis balls. Cardio runs Wednesday night from 6pm-7pm, and Friday morning from 9am-10am.
If you are looking for a little more instruction on court, please contact me for a private lesson or join one of the adult drop-in drills. Thursday morning from 8:30am-10am is our advanced group and also on Thursday from 10am-11:30am our intermediate group runs. Please contact me if you are unsure which drill to come to.
It is great to see the kids back on the tennis court this summer. We had a large group of our kids participate in the middle school and high school tennis program, and all of their hard work and practice this year shows! Our kids are more determined than ever to get better at this great sport. We have a couple fun events for the kids to join up for a night out at the tennis courts. Wild & Crazy Tennis Night for the elementary age kids will run on Saturday, July 8 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. T(w)een Tennis Night will run on Thursday, July 27 at 6:00pm. The kids also have a very busy month of competition, because all 4 tennis matches against the country clubs will be happening in July. Good luck to our players!
In August, we slowed down a little bit with our competition and will just be running our Junior Club Championship on Tuesday, August 15. The championship will be held during the regular class time that day. Come out and watch your child play!
