It’s hard to believe that I’ve got almost three months under my belt here at Gull Lake CC. I already feel like I’m part of the family. We’ve accomplished a great deal and changed a few things for what we hope will be for the better.

One of those changes is going to be the Food Minimums. All food minimums will now be annual. This means you will have an entire year to use up your minimum. I believe this is a more equitable way to treat this as it gives the snowbirds and families a chance to satisfy their minimums in the summer without being penalized in the winter for going South or having a busy school schedule. We want you to enjoy the club when it is optimal for your busy lives. The annual policy will reset everyone to January 1st through December 31st. Any unspent balance will appear on your December 31st statements. This makes it much easier for you to remember and is much easier to manage in the office.

THE GRILLE- Demolition of the Grille building will commence on November 2nd. Construction will follow with a target date of May 1st for completion of the project. We are excited to explore the possibilities for this new building and we’re looking at a couple of events to celebrate the opening. Stay tuned!

The Boat Launch Gate will be closed for the season on November 1st. Anyone needing access to remove a boat after that date should contact the office to make arrangements.

The Kid’s Halloween Party was a tremendous success and the relocation of the haunted house to the Quarter Deck was a ‘happy accident’ brought about by the closing of the Grille. This is a much safer place to stage it as the kids don’t have to cross the streets to get there. We’ll keep that in our back pockets for next year! Thank you to all the parents/grandparents who attended in costume! I thoroughly enjoyed that the staff was in costume as well. We certainly have some creative people and it was a high-spirited night! (pun intended!)

We’ve updated the form for Thanksgiving Dinner orders. I think that everyone will find it much easier to follow and determine the amounts of food you will need for your dinner. The form is accessible from our website under the Upcoming Events section of the Dining and Social Calendar. Just print it, scan it and email it to either Hannah or myself. Feel free to pick up a form in the office as well!

I thank everyone who has come to me with ideas and suggestions to make the Club better. The staff has been tremendous about trying new things and I appreciate the teamwork and support. My door is always open.

To all of you from me; Thank you for sharing your Club with me…
