We’ve made a few changes to our upcoming projects…


Our first project is off and running. On November 2nd, our Grill Room building will be demolished. Soon after the demolition, we will be taking additional soil borings and will know what sort of foundation we will utilize. After that, it is a race to get the building closed in before wintertime. We are still planning on opening May 1st.


Our planning committee has recommended that we delay the start of the Lakeview room expansion until the Fall of 2020 versus the planned 2019. This will allow us time to see how our recent changes impact the club’s profitability. Last year the board requested that we book fewer banquet events along with some minor changes to our event fees and menu. In 2018 we hosted 29 weddings compared to 46 weddings in 2017, resulting in substantially less unrelated revenues.


More recent changes include a new Club Manager, a new bottom to top budgeting process, a new fee structure for banquet events, golf outings and boat slips, along with some possible changes to membership categories. Our 2019 fees for banquet services, boat slip rental and golf outing green fees going forward are more in line with today’s market. Prior to this, we were well below the market.


Give the delay in the start of the Lakeview Project, the planning committee is further recommending that we evaluate two other smaller improvements for 2019. We will be evaluating costs to improve the Doolittle Pavilion and our tennis facilities with an eye to add pickle ball and parking capacity. The most important part of this is to make sure none of these projects stops the Lakeview expansion project which will enhance our banquet operations and gain member space and separation from these events all in response to the membership feedback.


In short, we will have a lot to evaluate as 2019 progresses.
