Hey Members,

Are you ready for the platform season? I am excited for the temperatures to drop, the snow to start flying and for the platform courts to heat up. If you haven’t tried platform yet, now is the time! It’s the perfect outdoor activity to chase away cabin fever, get some exercise and have fun with friends. The heated decks prevent ice or snow from accumulating in the winter, the lights keep the courts open day or night and the platform hut offers a great place to relax afterwards.

Sleeves of balls will be for sale in the office. Please use the reservation binder in the platform hut to reserve your court. If you are looking for a paddle, please feel free to contact me!

Platform Schedule

Happy Holidays!

As we transition into the winter season, my crew and I hope you have been enjoying some of the new menu items we have provided as well as our new signature drink and wine list. Be sure to keep GLCC in mind when planning all of your holiday parties and caterings this holiday season as well! As always, we love to hear your thoughts and feedback, so let us know what you think!

I’ll leave you all with this delicious chili recipe for the season!

White Bean Chicken Chili

1 lb chopped boneless chicken breast

1 medium onion– chopped

1 tbls olive oil

2 cloves garlic– minced

2 cans chicken broth (14 oz each)

1 can chopped green chilies (4 oz)

2 tsp ground cumin

2 tsp dried oregano

1.5 tsp cayenne pepper

3 cans great northern beans, divided & drained (14.5 oz each)

1 c (4 oz) shredded Monterey jack cheese

1 chopped jalapeno pepper

Add 3 tbls olive oil

1. In a Dutch oven, over medium heat, cook chicken and onion in oil until lightly browned. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in the broth, chilies, cumin, oregano, and cayenne; bring to a boil.

2. Reduce heat to low. With a potato masher, mash on can of beans until smooth. Add to saucepan. Add remaining beans to saucepan. Simmer for 20-30 minutes until chicken is no longer pink and the onion is tender.

3. Top each serving with cheese and jalapeno pepper if desired

Yield: 10 servings (2.5 quarts)

Dear Members,

I hope that everyone is as excited as I am for this upcoming holiday season and all of the parties and events that will be coming along with it!

Just a reminder that our membership roster can be found online through our web-site, under the ‘member central’ tab. If you would like me to print one off for you that you can pick it up in the office, I’m more than happy to do that. If you notice your information is incorrect on the roster, please let me know so I can update it. Also, if you go somewhere else during the winter months and would like any club correspondence sent to another address, please let someone in the office know—we like to keep everyone updated year-round.

Beginning January 1st, 2018 GLCC  will be offering both the Gull Post and Calendar through our website and email. Paper copies will be available in the office for pick up and mailed upon request. If you’d like to have a hard copy of either of these, please contact me and I will make sure everything gets taken care of for you!

Don’t forget that our Annual Meeting is coming up on Wednesday, December 6th,  which means we’ll be sending out ballots very soon. Please be sure to return your ballots to the main office so that we can reach our quorum. For your convenience, Lisa Pominville, in the office, will be accepting signed ballots via email this year. Her email address is This is a very important process for the future of the Club and we appreciate everyone’s willingness to participate.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at or 269-629-9714. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Happy Holidays!
