KRISTIN'S KORNER

“All seasons have something to offer”

-Jeannette Walls

I found this quote and fell in love with it because I firmly believe it captures what we, the staff, want GLCC to be for you, a wonderful club that has something to feature each month and season just for you.

GLCC has some great events conjured up for March & April. For all bourbon lovers out there, GLCC is hosting a bourbon & cigar dinner in the Grill Room on March 9th beginning at. If you can keep up with the Irish, join us in the Boat Bar on March 17th as we offer traditional Irish features & drinks including fun live music. Approaching the end of March, we quickly enter the fun events of Easter. Saturday, March 31st is an enormous fun day at the club revolving around all the adorable children running around with excitement in search for the golden egg. That’s right, the official Easter Egg Hunt, which leads us into Easter Brunch the next day. Please be advised that these two functions fill up fast, so the sooner you make your reservation the better! April 19th we will be hosting our Bells beer & small plates event & April 26th is the Spring Fashion Shopping event. As we gear up April, please remember to check the social calendar for all of the fun summer events that will begin to take form. It is going to be another fabulous, fun spring at the club this year, and we look forward to seeing everyone utilizing the Club.

It has been a pleasure working side-by-side with Chef Adam Stacey and I would like to take the time to say goodbye and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

TENNIS

Dear Members,

I hope everyone enjoyed the winter we had and are just as excited as I am to see the warmer temp. I can’t believe we only have one platform mixer left of the season. Let’s make the last mixer a huge hit! Mark your calendars for Friday, March 9th at 6:30 pm. Please let me know f you can make it out.

Spring is right around the corner and I can’t wait to direct my 7th season at GLCC. Once the weather allows us to start playing tennis and pickleball outside, I would love to organize private and group lessons during the week and on the weekends. If you or your child are interesting in spring lessons, please contact me to set up a time!

See you on the courts!

GOLF

Dear Members,

Our golf season will soon be here and it is time to start planning your schedule. The golf calendar has been made available online giving everyone the opportunity to look ahead and plan for club events, leagues and junior golf. There are some new events on the schedule as well as many favorites. Sign-up early for the 2018 Men’s Invitational to secure your spot, and make sure you lock in a partner for the Thursday match play league. If you need help, please contact the golf staff to connect you with others looking for a partner.

Each spring marks the arrival of new equipment and apparel to help your game and your look. New product technology like the Twist Face from Taylormade, Callaway Jailbreak, and Titleist SM7 wedges will be on the way soon. We are currently taking orders for the Titleist Pro V1 & Pro V1x golf ball promotion as well as a similar promotion for the TaylorMade TP5 & TP5x ball. Customize your ball, imprint color and personalization in a buy 3, and get 1 free promotion.

We look forward to seeing everyone back enjoying the club, and we have our fingers crossed for an early and dry spring. I would like to see everyone set some golf goals for 2018. Whether it be playing more, putting better, getting rid of that slice, or lowering your handicap by 3 shots. Everyone that sends me a golf goal for the year will be entered into a raffle to win a complimentary lesson. My 2018 golf goal is to play smarter, and make less mental errors. What will yours be?
